Story…

With formality, often comes pretention. In an age of label worship and stereotypical methods of education, the wine industry is craving a change.

Current wine associations are closely connected to tourism, and therefore mostly exporting the big-name brands. To indulge in the joys of small, family-owned wineries with deep roots in Georgian tradition, one must delve deeper.

I am Rebel Sommelier, Leading this underground movement  With no ties to institutions, being an ambassador of unique vintages, inviting you to open your palette to a whole new world of rogue and radical wine tastings now taking place in Paris.

Tasting events will take place in cryptic locations, harkening back to the days of Prohibition.
The hand-crafted, organic wines presented are lesser known, harder to find, and in many ways, revolutionary. Hear fascinating stories behind the various all-natural nectars of the Caucasus region, some dating back over 8000 years.

You’ll learn why this change is so badly needed, since so much of the wine-making world has traded quality for quantity, using chemicals in a mechanical quest to create all-important balance.

To the Rescue: The Republic’s Rebel

Hailing from Tbilisi, the capital city of the Republic of Georgia my name is Nina Naskidashvili, otherwise known as Rebel Somm.

I say: “listen to the wine”

Growing up in a traditional Georgian family, my father being incredible toastmaster (Tamada) I learned to appreciate natural Georgian wine, that appreciation brought me to France in 2020 where I’m intent on sharing that exhilarating sense of experimentation and reckless abandon that never left me. Join me in an eye-opening salute to all that Georgian wine has to offer.
